Where Wilderness And Adventures Begin At The Back Door

Silver Spur Trails is located to  the southeast end of Mabel Lake Provincial Park, nestled into the Shuswap Highlands which grade to the east into the impressive Monashee Mountains. The ranch is surrounded by pristine wilderness in the heart of British Columbia. Although it feels like untamed wilderness it’s only a 20 minute drive to the village of Lumby and the nearest store and gas station, or a 50 minute drive to Vernon, our main business centre.

The riding and hiking trails start right at the ranch and lead up to high meadows and lakes through never-ending forests, to places with spectacular scenery.

Herds of deer pass through our fields and cougars, bobcats and elk live in the hills. We often see black bears crossing the trails. Many North American birds nest in the bushes and trees and invite you to a photo excursion.

Silver Spur Trails offers you western hospitality and activities of a western lifestyle and mountain horses matched to your abilities! The rustic ranch house will make you feel like stepping back in time and for a while you will escape the stress and toll of daily life.

The mornings start out with a hearty breakfast at the ranch or outside by warm weather. When on the trail, packed lunch may include sandwiches on freshly baked bread, locally grown fruit, and Yrene's famous carrot muffins.

After an eventful day on your horse and enjoying the fresh air and stunning scenery, relax at the ranch house for a meal that might include Cowboy chili, home backed corn bread, freshly tossed salad and a surprise dessert.
Barbecues and campfires add the true western touch to our summer evenings. Bring along your guitar or other instrument and song book. Relax in our steamy hot-tub and gaze at the stars to finish off the day.

All-inclusive adventures include accommodation, meals, horse riding, guide(s), tack, bareback lessons, archery practice and activities as specified in each package.

We offer rustic and clean accommodation and a warm and friendly atmosphere which makes everyone feel welcome. Our Guest Ranch is cozy, with a wood stove for cool nights and a wood cook stove in the kitchen to add to the special touch. The rooms have comfortable beds with feather duvets.

The Ranch-Stay Packages include the Buckaroo Ranch-Stay and the Pioneer Ranch-Stay and let you customize your own adventure for a once-in-a-life-time experience. A Ranch-Stay will give you the opportunity to get fully involved in the ranch life with hands-on experience.

The Buckaroo Ranch-Stay can be combined with a Horse Packtrip in the Silver Hills for an ultimate wilderness vacation.
