Silver Spur Trails Wilderness Ranch offers employment all year round to self-motivated, goal oriented people who want to experience and live the wilderness life. With the nature of our business, we require employees who can take initiative, are flexible and can multi-task. Successful candidates will be eager to learn, will have a positive attitude, and will be ready for a challenge.

We strive to provide our clients with the vacation of a lifetime, therefore we seek nicely groomed people with the same goals as our own. Strong work ethic, positive attitude, honesty, enthusiasm, helpfulness, friendliness and common sense are the kind of characteristics you will need to apply for a job at our ranch.

Since we are running a ranch, resourcefulness is a must in order to keep all our guests happy, horses healthy, fences standing, machines running, water flowing and corrals maintained. Although we are a tourism business most of our work is ranch/wilderness related which ALWAYS brings hard work and long hours. It is not only outside work required. All our workers have to be willing to help in house and kitchen as well. All applicants must be physically fit and able to lift hay bales and saddles.

We believe a person must evolve or reinvent himself or herself constantly in order to keep moving forward. Our staff's growth and progress comes through overcoming the challenges presented in their work and their life at the ranch, each and every day.

Your job must be your priority if you are to truly experience a rewarding and satisfying experience. Working for our Wilderness Guest Ranch in Canada, you will experience a healthy and active lifestyle. We promote healthy living with our healthy meals, as well as our Non Smoking Policy for workers. For the Helpers we provide accommodation in a large wall-tent with a wood stove or in the Silver Spur Bankhouse and meals. At this time there is no electricity at the living quartersl. We do not tolerate alcohol consumption on our premises among the staff members and only NON SMOKING people need to apply. Once you are accepted to work here, you will be required to sign our staff standards and expectations form.

We don't pay wages but you will get much more in exchange than what we could pay you. The experience of living and working at a Wilderness Guest Ranch and joining us in our way of life will influence the rest of your life.

Application

Please consider carefully before applying. We provide a unique work environment, where staff work, live and socialize together in a communal environment. The ranch is located at the edge of the wilderness with no public transportation into town. Limited transportation is available to Lumby and Vernon.

Transfer from Kelowna International Airport or from Vernon can be arranged.
