If you are longing for the western experience that can only be discovered from the back of a horse...

Morning Ride

. . . your dreams can become reality. Experience the smell of clean air on the trails, the unspoiled wilderness and encounter some new challenges. All rides begin from our ranch where we follow the path leading through high timber and thick brush up to high meadows of unspeakable beauty. We personally guide all our trail rides and provide instructions to ensure a safe ride. All the trail rides include a practice warm-up in the paddock.

We do mountain riding at Silver Spur Trails Wilderness Guest Ranch in fairly steep terrain.

Our back country Natural Horseman Ship pre-conditioning introductions will supply you with skills and give you an insight into the BC wilderness. Our horseback riding trips are fun and adventurous and the group sizes are small. The weekly rides are chosen depending on the time of year, weather, the group of guests, planed activities and other circumstances.

We offer lessons in western riding for our guests and the riding paddock is always ready for you to practice and improve your riding skills.

Guests who don't book one of the riding packages or day guests can book trail rides separately.

Please check out the 1-Day or 1/2-day Adventure in the Country for an extended program.

Our Herd of Horses

Most of our horses are Morgans, a breed which has a name for perseverance, good strong hooves and thick manes. This is of big value in our hilly and mountainous country side, where the horses have to perform strenuous work. Some of them go bare feet and never get shoed. A couple of beautiful Quarter horsesare also part of our herd.

Belle Riding lessons

The horses are kept outside all year round and they only come from the pasture when they are used for riding. We don't use lawn mowers at the ranch. Some horses grace in front of the ranch house wearing bells. If they drift off to far from the ranch  and we can't hear the jingle of the bells we know that we have to go and look for them. When winter comes the horses are outside on the pasture grazing and digging through the snow and they get hay twice a day. They find shelter under the trees in a natural surrounding.
