A Day Adventure in the Country
No matter what your reasons are to come out to the ranch, the Mabel Lake Valley is a real vacation paradise. Discover the ranch you didn't know existed, tucked away among the hills. Here you have a fantastic opportunity to explore the Okanagan back country on horseback and enjoy the great outdoors.
Whether you are just meeting up with friends or planning to celebrate a special occasion, your time with us will leave you with amazing memories.
The day can be customized for small groups. Because of safety reasons we don't take children under 12 out on trail rides unless they are experienced riders and had previous riding lessons. Children can have fun riding in the paddock or be led on a lead rope.
What the Vernon Woman's Group who came out on April 18, 2010 had to say:
"This is a fantastic opportunity to get out and enjoy the great outdoors. A group of us just took in the experience and highly recommend it. If you are looking for something exciting to do check this out! it is highly worth your time and money."
For your day adventure you will arrive at the ranch just in time for lunch. After lunch you will meet your horse and learn about the basics of riding and horseman-ship. In the paddock you have the opportunity to get used to the riding terrain, you will learn to relax and find a connection with your horse. By the time you are ready for the mountain ride, you will remember what you learned: "heals down - toes up", "don't watch the horse - watch where you go" will be stuck in your mind.

The 1-hour or 2-hour mountain ride will give you a good taste of of the wilderness surrounding the ranch. The trail leads through large, old growth forests and rugged terrain. Soon you will trust your sure footed mountain horse and fully enjoy the adventure and the nature surrounding you. Moose Mountain is the place to stop for a while to take in the view and click some picture memories. There is a good chance to see some wildlife on this ride. Moose droppings and bear poop on the trails remind us of the wild animals we share this beautiful land with.
Back at the ranch, there are some other excitements waiting for you. Always wanted to know how to shoot with a bow and arrow? Archery at the ranch is like going back in time. After some hard practice, everyone will boost their archery skills. Target shooting with an air rifle is also a good way to spend some free time. |
Enjoy a barbeque dinner on the open fire, followed by Cowboy coffee and marshmallows. Get your Cowboy spirit out and share some trail stories while sitting around the camp fire.
